The WordSend project consists of a set of software tools that convert Scripture file formats to and from USFM or USFX for the purpose of typesetting, publication, and archiving translations of the Holy Bible in many languages. This is a cross-platform, open source project based on Microsoft .NET and the Mono Project with GTK (depending on the platform). The primary development language is C#. The primary platforms targeted are: Microsoft Windows XP or Vista, Linux (with emphasis on Debian and Ubuntu), and Mac OS X. WordSend works with a word processor to do the "heavy lifting" of Scripture typesetting. The initial target is Microsoft Office Word 2003 or 2007, but we have plans to support Openoffice.org Writer (and anything else that supports Open Document Text).
