Linux Essentials
Linux Essentials is a collection of Shell Scripts that restarts the desktop environment, but does not close any windows. It also updates the system.
To use it on kde, just type:
./FASTKDE.sh
To use it on Gnome, just type:
./FASTGNOME.sh
To use it on Xfce, just type:
./FASTXFCE.sh
Note: This has not been tested on Xfce
There is currently one problem.
On Gnome, there might be a lot of windows popping up. This is one solution:
killall nautilus./FASTGNOME.sh
