sCaptcher 1.0
BE CAREFUL! This application is still not stable! But it gives a nice example how to do that ;) If you get any problem to following: Restart your system, reset your pram (holding for 4 seconds command-alt-p-r when booting), start in a safe environment (press shift when booting - this will clean up your system and repair some stuff -> takes his time!) and at least use the disk utility to repair the filerights.
Different from the others Mac OSX recording utilities scaptcher is opensource!
sCaptcher records the fullscreen or a part of the screen. It is plugin based, this way you can extend it with different recording views (shows which part is going to record) or displayer view (a view that draw something on your screen. Ex.: a temporary textfield).
