This project WaterWell lies under the framework of Communication System Design program and is sponsored by SPIDER . The primary objective of this project is to produce a feasible and practical wireless sensor network for monitoring water quality. It is based on the prototype built by team AquaWSN in CSD 2007 and we will extend it by taking routing, power consumption and business opportunities into account. Since the prototype is dedicated for Sun SPOTs and wireless sensor networks developed by Sun Microsystems , we will program in Java and implement our work on the testbed provided by KTH. By going through all the phases and subtasks we stated in the plan, the team will fulfill all the goals to the best, and hopefully bring it into realistic operation to benefit those people who can not drink clean water.
