A project to hold Software-Group #8"s designs for
Team Hawaii"s Solar Decathlon home management software system.
Thank you for visiting our project site! We hope to interest you in software development, the Wicket framework, and of course the Solar Decathlon!
Our software is intended to provide a comprehensive interface for managing the various systems in an energy efficient home. In addition to monitoring the solar energy generated by the photovoltaic system, it can control home lighting, appliances, entertainment, even security and fire alarm systems.
Built as a web-interface application, the combination of Java and HTML in the Wicket framework generates web content dynamically. Continuous monitoring of systems throughout the home results in live data about energy efficiency being displayed to the homeowner. Author
