Window Reader will let you select an area of your screen to process through an optical character recognizer program. Converts images of text into cut and pasteable text.
Java/Windows
Download, unzip folder
Start up WindowReader.jar (double click or "java -jar WindowReader.jar")
Ctrl-R activates program, then you:
Select a rectangle of your screen to try and OCR
Wait for it!
A new window pops up with the best OCR text for your selection.
Press Ctrl-R again to select another area of your screen to OCR.
Ctrl-Q quits the program.
