About
mcPHYLIP is a project to optimize some programs in the PHYLIP package
PHYLIP is a free package of programs for inferring phylogenies, which is widely used in bioinformatics field. Some programs in this package have poor performance and are worthing paralleling.
Several parallel technique will be used in this project, such as openMP, CUDA, openCL and so on.
Supported Platforms
At the beginning, the programs are only tested on a windows(with Visual C++ Express 2008) platform.
Additionally, we believe that the code should be running on a linux system, but we have not tested it. Of course, before running on a linux system, a proper Makefile should be written.
