This python script for Linux will watch running applications and modify their priority - CPU priority (renice), I/O disk priority (ionice) and set CPU usage limit (cpulimit) based on your preferences on the fly.
Typical scenario is when your music interrupts playing or your movie or game started freezing for short moments because your PC just decided to do some very important background job. It is mainly for owners of not so new boxes.
