Progresses in understanding oligonucleotide chemistry should aid designing PCR primers (in real-time, etc.) and anti-sense probes (in gene interference, in situ hybridization, microarray, etc.).
Such applications could use a core library, and probably a common GUI frame. So here comes a project to evolve.
Python and wx are our friends. Collaboration and contributions are welcome.
Current components:
PrimerPy, primer design for real-time PCR.
PrimerPy v0.97a (tortilla) is available for download now.
A new separate module for hairpin/dimer check, accepting degenerate primers and batch mode.
