ErlActors is a prototypical attempt to achieve a "true to the original" mapping of the non-distributed parts of Erlang"s process paradigm to a Java ExecutorService (using a blocking thread for each Process/Actor). The aim is to find out whether this approach could be a useful alternative for some multithreading challenges typically encountered in Java programming.
