Autumnal is an experimental project to de-springify a Spring application context into a java source file.
The motivation for this was initially for deploying a Spring-configured application onto an embedded device, reducing RAM consumption by a few MB.
This project should not be seen as any kind of anti-Spring statement. On the contrary, the author uses Spring as framework of choice. If anything, this kind of project can be seen as proof of Rod Johnson"s tenet that "Your application code should not depend on Spring APIs". http://www.springsource.org/about
The initial effort was just a java library and an ant task.
Next, a web-based demo app (on Google App Engine).
