Digital Image Processing ITCS 3134-001 Robairt & Fancy-Pants Introduction: Automated human face recognition is a non-trivial computer vision problem of considerable practical significance. It has numerous applications including automated secured access, automatic surveillance, forensic analysis, fast retrieval of records from databases in police departments, automatic identification of patients in hospitals, checking for fraud or identity theft, and human-computer interaction. For our digital image processing project, we are going design and implement an automated facial recognition system, that will use 2D/RGB algorithms, which have been researched to a fairly modest degree, in combination with more recent 3D/Depth image processing techniques. For 2D facial recognition, we will compare the following techniques: Eigen vectors, Edge maps (EM), and line EM"s (LEM). Information from the range camera will
