We are interested in examining the dynamics of a paradigm shift (cf. Kuhn) that occurred in folklore studies. Our hope is to use articles in folklore journals from the period as a foundation for a map of reference schemes (aka citation networks) before, during, and after the “turn towards performance” (TTP) as the shift is known within folklore studies.
