Gedit Simple Version Control
Saves a backup to ~/gedit-backups with a timestamp and write protect every time you press save.
This is very similar to the Backup feature on Notepad++ (npp)
## Install: ##
Copy the downloaded files to ~/.gnome2/gedit/plugins
Update
gnome3 version available.
Tested on Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit
and on Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit
