The University of Maryland Code for Community Challenge is a competition to write a mobile or web-based application that meets a community need.
Our team is working with the Prince George’s County Department of Parks and Recreation to port their online Park Finder utility to a mobile platform and to enhance it for mobile use. The existing utility lets residents search for local park facilities, but is difficult
to use on a mobile platform. We seek to make a web app that is not only accessible on mobile devices but also takes advantage of the features they have to offer, such as wireless geolocation and GPS.
