This project provides an convenient abstraction over flash.net.Socket. With this module, you can use arbitrary network services hosted on the server.
As a backend, it uses a small flash movie that does the actual data transfer.
One of the limitations imposed by the single-threaded nature of ActionScript3 is the fact that you only get non-blocking sockets, which can prove harder to use.
As an example, we provide a simple POP3 protocol implementation.
