The leafedbox project is a simple, non-intrusive framework that allows developers to build modular, well-architected applications. The framework rests on top of the existing application framework provided by the Flex SDK but adds simple features to allow for uniform communication and tiered modularization throughout the entire application.
While there are numerous Flex frameworks that already exist, many of them require that the developer build monolithic, centralized classes that help wire the application together. Code should be encapsulated and modular but event maps and global model locators break this encapsulation.
A framework in Flex should be simple. The Adobe Flex team has done a fantastic job creating a language and an architecture which separates out models, controllers and views and simplifies the software development process. The leafedbox project is meant to simply augment the code that"s already there.
