The CHARIS cpu is developed in Technical University of Crete ( TUC - www.tuc.gr / www.mhl.tuc.gr ) in order to help the students to understand the main principles of the cpu architecture and design. CHARIS is a RISC processor and supports pipeline. Is written in VHDL language and is mainly simulated rather than implemented. The assembler is converting assembly code to binary in the form of memory initialization file ( coe files).
