Many free HTML/CSS templates are geared towards blogs. In some cases, these templates are available as installable themes on a particular blogging platform. For example, WordPress themes can be installed by uploading the template to the appropriate directory and activating it from the admin interface.
Tumblr.com, like WordPress,org, has single-click installable themes. Tumblr themes are submitted for approval directly to Tumblr because (unlike WordPress) the platform itself cannot be run from an independent server. In addition to installing an existing (approved) theme, Tumblr allows for the customization of existing themes via its HTML WYSIWYG-like editing interface.
The scope of the themes for this project stops short of having been submitted/accepted as a Tumblr theme. In other words, the modified templates presented here have not been submitted to Tumblr; they can, however, be copy-pasted into the "customize theme" user accessible area of Tumblr.
