HOME kernels
"Kernels" is a sub-project of HOME (Hybrid Ocean Model Environement) that aims to establish conventions for designing and writing shared code for use in ocean models.
Broader goals for HOME
Develop libraries of code for use in ocean models
Accelerate the cross-fertilization of ideas between ocean models
Reduce the redundancy of code development in multiple in ocean models
Specific goals of kernels
Tackles the problem of writing code for [horizontal] operations on different [Arakawa] staggered grids and/or memory layouts of data
