"embedded" software introduces great functionality and flexibility to the embedded system, while it also introduces significant overhead for software debugging and testing.
debugging is a nightmare sometimes.
"dis-embedded" means the solution to this problem, it"s basically a simulator-based approach, for which a Common Virtual Platform(CVP) is critical - not only for embedded software debugging & testing, but also for embedded system model checking. SystemC is adopted as an implementation technology for CVP.
Actually, the project start with a static analysis approach, which is essential for all goals above. eclipse/CDT provides an fruitful code base to get it finished and is heavily expoited in this project.
