In case you need an reactive light for your NightCache, this small and simple PIC microprocessor based reactive light can be a solution.
Because the translation of characters to morse signals is already coded, you just have to define the text you want to morse if activated.
Activation is done with a photo transistor. While inactive the power consumption is about 60uA so a CR2547 battery nearly lasts a year.
