This project holds the systems by Benoit Favre and Bernd Bohnet that participated to the GREC-NEG evaluations in 2009 and 2010.
The task consists in generating referential expressions for person entities (Full name, Last name only, pronoun, common noun, ellipsis...) in a text. Given a list of possible word strings, the system has to pick the most clear and fluent expressions.
The long term objective of this task is to couple it with named entity recognition to rewrite Wikipedia texts that have been edited by multiple authors and sometimes lack clarity.
