ELIS is a valueable stand-alone web application for information retrieval. It uses the high-performance search engine Apache Lucene to extract information from the ELO database. On a document vector basis similarites between a website (user provied web address) and the data from the database are calculated. A ranking of the 10 most similar documents from the ELO data base management system and an abstract is provided due to the elis-web interface. It"s purpose is to find documents from the ELO DBMS on a specific topic that users may require.
