LiveJabber is a web-based IM client that uses Jabber/XMPP transport protocol and Ajax technology.
The project is an academic effort led by the CDG group from the University of Bari, Italy, and is released under the MIT licence. It is also hosted at Collab CDE site (link: http://cde.di.uniba.it/projects/livejabber/).
