Overview
ndhcp is a suite of programs that provide IPv4 DHCP services. Client support is provided by the combination of ndhc and ifchd. Server support is provided by ndhs.
Client support
ndhc is a privilege separated IPv4 DHCP client that is designed to be secure and small. It is fully-featured, and supports RFC5227 address conflict detection and defense. ndhc also listens to hardware link layer status notifications that are sent by the kernel, allowing it to react intelligently when a network cable is disconnected and reconnected, or similar events. Such support can be very useful for mobile computers.
ndhc runs as a chrooted non-root process, restricted to having the Linux capabilities of NET_BIND_SERVICE, NET_BROADCAST, and NET_RAW. Interfa
