AntiLapka
AntiLaplka is an anti-thief application, that, when activated, monitors phone movement and raises an alarm when the acceleration is bigger than a predefined threshold - when the phone is being stolen. Turning that alarm on using a SMS containing a predefined string is also possible. Better still, the SMS interface also allows one to get the current position of the phone in response.
History & Motivation
The reason for this app to be written is a promotional competition held by GUG.cz (Google User Group in the Czech Republic) in April 2009. AntiLapka, being one of four more or less completed applications, actually won it.
I"ve got a new G1 phone as a reward. However, there are still some aspects that need some work (see also DevelopmentRoadmap):
